Someone told us to stop here and say "hi" to a certain author but the locals told us he had a tragedy, his dog died, he is at the Pet Semetery.

Not sure if you heard or not but the First Family is vacationing this weekend in Bar Harbor.  I guess we must use the same travel agent!  We left the day before they arrived so we were able to enjoy the island in all of  its normalcy before closed roads, check points and other traffic delays.  I guess we will catch up with them when we are in DC...maybe get together and exchange vacation photos!

Originally, we wanted to camp in Canada but that didn't work out.  I wasn't aware that Montreal is the armpit of Canada and we couldn't even stop there to use the bathroom.  However, once we crossed back to the US the drive through Maine was spectacular every thing that I thought  Canada would be,  rolling hills, tall trees, rivers flowing next to the road, old barns, very picturesque.  Soooo, we did the next best thing and camped on the bank of Frenchman's Bay just west of  Bar Harbor.  The weather was perfect and we had fun hanging out around the camp fire.  The only complaint from the  "first time" campers,  was the night air was very damp, so not to bad.  We may try this again in White Mountain National Forest.
